## Über Cardano

Cardano is a decentralized, open source blockchain and cryptocurrency project. It was designed to offer a unique approach to securing and scaling a blockchain network, with the aim of making it possible for all cryptocurrencies to co-exist and be easily converted without the need for intermediaries. Cardano is a smart contract platform, similar to Ethereum, but its distinguishing factors lie in its scalability, flexibility, and security through layered architecture.
